In year 1997, HKJCC was established to promote chess as a fun sport. We consistently build and enlarge a wider base of junior chess players who would hopefully participate in many fun opportunities by playing chess events in Hong Kong. 

We are a non-profit making organisation that focuses on the healthy development of chess as extracurricular activities among young children. We believe that a healthy mind inside a healthy body, will bring out the best in a child. We continuously encourage junior chess players to have a competitive spirit that is balanced with a strong sense of true sportsmanship. 

For the past 20 years, we organised 3 chess events every year i.e. Hong Kong Junior Chess Championship, HK Inter-Schools Championship, and HK Junior Rapid Chess Championship. We are pioneers in the promotion of HK Junior Chess.

Winning a chess game is important. But we must never forget that true sportsmanship and good behaviour is the essence of a responsible and kind person.
